About Us

Our Background

Here at the Students Pay It Forward Initiative, we are helping future and current students by providing them with scholarships. How do we do it?

Easy!

Recyle, reuse and pay it forward.

Each year thousands of students move out of their apartments and dorms. They throw stuff away; food, clothes, books, school and dorm supplies... We collect these discarded items and sort through them. Sell what we can and donate what we can't, locally. The funds are then given back to those students in the form of scholarships and grants. The saying "one's man trash is another man's treasure," although cliche has never been more true.

Beyond helping students financially, we found that SPIFI has more benefits not just locally, but globally as well.

By collecting and dispensing items ourselves and dispensing we help universities cut down on their waste. We donate unsold items to local shelters, schools and food banks. But to do all of that, we need to hire some people!

We are a public, non-profit organization dedicated to helping out those who deserve it the most. Beside taking physical donations (gently used clothing, school and office supplies, books, food) we also accept financial ones. We ask you to help us with providing financial aid for our and your literal future.
